    Special Education Teacher

    Job description:

    Full-time Probationary Special Education Teacher for a K-2 class for the 2024-2025 school year.

    NYS Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2); Students with Disabilities (All Grades); or Special Education (K-12) certification required

    The program is structured as an 8:1:2 classroom supporting students with Autism and other developmental delays. In addition to holding the appropriate Special Education certification, qualified candidates will have experience with children on the spectrum, augmentative communication, and behavior management.

    Responsibilities to include:

    • Work with Behavior Analyst to design specialized instruction and behavior plans to address the individual needs of students
    • Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction
    • Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and addressing learning needs.
